UK CULTURE QUIZ FOR NOVEMBER

5.  What traditional show is held in London in November?  It is the oldest civic procession in the world.

1. Guy Fawkes Night, when conspirators led by Guy Fawkes tried to blow up Parliament in 1605. 2. To remember the dead of all wars. A ceremony is held in Whitehall, London on the nearest Sunday to Armistice Day, 11th November. On the 11th November itself a two-minute silence is held across the country at 11 am. 3. The State Opening of Parliament. 4. The dish is Christmas Pudding and all members of the family stir the mixture for luck. The day is called "Stir Up Sunday" but the words "Stir up" come from a religious text. 5. The Lord Mayor's Show. This year it will take place on 13th November.
